☁️ Let's reassess, shall we?
ijbol / *slams laptop shut til never* / what did we do before smartphones? / the chicken interview chokehold / give breathwork a try!
Hi friend,
Are you doing things because you: need to, want to, or feel obligated to?
Just a question I’ve been asking myself lately.
It’s important to check in on our priorities every so often and question the items we’re putting on our to-do lists.
That’s all for this week 🤍
with warmth + love,
N

If you remember last week, you know I’ve been trying hard to focus lately and get sh*t done (this is a constant struggle idk why I’m saying it’s just now) 😵💫
One of the latest tricks I’ve tried is breathwork.
I know, I know. Bear with me. Because as much as I tell y’all that meditation and calming exercises are important for anxiety… I’m really bad at it myself.
Breathwork essentially allows you to manipulate and control your breath to cause different bodily reactions. I’ve found breathwork for extra energy to be particularly helpful lately.
Here’s a video on how to do it if you’d like to give it a try. Or if you’d like to do the exact breathwork exercises I do, here’s a link to get 30 days free of my favorite breathwork app Open which includes a bunch of exercises for different needs.

how we take care of ourselves while tackling the timeline
today we’re hearing from: Anna Laura from Atlanta, GA // @annalaurahhh
what she does: Social Media Strategist
most stressful part of the job: The most stressful thing about working in social is... all of it. The expectation to be constantly "on," everyone thinking they understand how to do your job, and the need to stay up to date with constant algorithm changes. Oh, and being the graphic designer, account manager, and analytics expert on top of social management.
how she prioritizes mental health: I try my best to leave work at work. I don't like to work past 5 if I can help it, and I always turn my computer completely off at the end of the day. If I'm really stressed, I go for a walk or try to do a quick meditation. Starting therapy and anxiety medication have also made a huge difference.
self-care must-haves: My ideal self-care routine is a quiet house, candle burning, skincare routine, and reading a book uninterrupted. I need to carve out time to take care of myself.
There's a song from half•alive I really love called Rest. "Rest is a secret / I start to believe in / Stopping the motion to process the moment"
