Hi friend,
The weather in New England this week has been incredible. Sunny, clear skies, warmth.
But then there’s also the emergence of bugs, pollen, and trying to figure out the right jacket to wear so you’re not too hot but not too cold.
I think sometimes we think in absolutes: it’s nice out, so I must enjoy it. Things are going well, so I must be happy.
But life, in actuality, is so much more nuanced than that.
The weather can be lovely, everything can be going right, and you can still feel anxious or depressed.
Maybe the weather being lovely makes the hard stuff even harder. Maybe it sucks to have people around you in a good mood when you’re struggling to get by.
All these mixed, nuanced feelings are so valid. I hope you find what you need, whether it’s a change in weather or the passage of time.
with warmth + love,
N

Hey Nicole- I agree with a lot of the points you made here, especially "perfectionism is a trap." I keep wondering why they don't teach this at school? They really should. Don't you think?
