☁️ Oh look, an extra day!
do not disturb / disney adulthood by design / the worst things you've said
Hi friend,
Happy leap day!
I love reading the cute little stories of people celebrating their Leap Day anniversaries or birthdays. There’s something sweet about the specialness of finally getting to that extra day that only comes once every four years. (Here’s why that is, btw.)
What would you do if you had an extra day?
Would you celebrate something? Or would you just dwell on the fact that there’s an extra 24 hours you have to deal with?
I’m choosing to celebrate (and coincidentally, getting a change of scenery for an event in NYC today). I’m going to pick up a fun drink from a cafe. I’m going to treat myself to some time outdoors. I’m going to indulge in self-care.
Obviously, we have to work through this extra day… but what could you do with this extra day that feels a little extra special? (Let this be your permission to do it.)
with warmth + love,

Is it worth it to document our lives online? we’re obsessed with publishing our lives on the internet… but does everything need to be recorded + posted?
Brb adopting this Gen Z tactic… I keep certain notifications off, but apparently most Gen Z-ers are on ‘Do Not Disturb’ 24/7? Goals.
The creators spending 35 hours creating a 10-second clip: elaborate, logic-defying trick shots are getting views on TikTok… man, that’s a lot of effort
What’s cool with the youths: I just found a lot of joy (and maybe a little leftover childhood anxiety) in this piece on what New York tweens are loving
“Disney Adults” is exactly what the corporation wanted: first, we don’t shame people here for what they love, but second, WOW brand loyalty is strong

When looking through content this week, this Substack headline from writer Olivia Muenter stopped me in my tracks: The worst things you can imagine, I’ve already said.
If you’ve struggled with negative self-talk and self-love, please read this article and feel validated. That’s all for this week. I’ll leave you with this quote from the piece:
“I am sure of very few things in this life, but one thing I am completely confident about is that there is no one on this earth who has said nastier things about me than I have. No one who has hated me more than me. And, hey, I’m sure we all go through that at some point — beating ourselves up, moonlighting as our own worst critic. But shouldn’t the opposite also be true, somewhere along the way?
Shouldn’t we also know what it’s like to be our own biggest fans, our own biggest cheerleaders, our number one supporters? Shouldn’t we know that when we mess up, we’ve got our own backs?”
🔮 looking ahead
on building social media detox!
Big news coming next week. I promise. Just getting things extra perfect for you. Leave me a note if anything’s on your mind. Appreciate you, friend! Thanks for being on this adventure with me 🤍
Loved today's edition of social media detox as always. The lines on self talk were so relatable & instead of being our biggest self critique, being our biggest supporter "Beautiful Perspective" ✨
Thank you Nicole 🙏🏻
