☁️ Overwhelmed (but in a good way)
the dorito theory / don't fall for TikTok wellness / comments in the Google Doc
Hi friend,
Have you ever been overwhelmed, but in a good way?
As in, you’re feeling the usual anxious feelings of overstimulation, exhaustion, and stress… but it’s brought on because of a good, exciting change?
It’s weird when our bodies react the same way, but our brains know things are different.
Maybe you’re moving to a new city, starting a new job, or trying out a new hobby.
Your heart rate elevates. You get a little shaky. You find yourself unable to stand still, or maybe you get the urge to lie down under a weighted blanket.
It’s normal for those feelings to be uncomfortable. Your experience isn’t any less valid because the things that brought on those feelings are good.
The feelings might be the same, but the outcomes are different. I’m sitting with you in the discomfort, excited to see what’s on the other side.
with warmth + love,
N
P.S. I appreciated how many of you reached out last week, ready to fight the bully I was talking about. Hi, it’s me, I’m the problem. 🥲

This week, I definitely fell into those overwhelmed (in a good way) feelings. Just yesterday, I hit a point where I had to stop working, walk away from the computer, and lie horizontally on the floor.
We have two options in these moments:
Push through
Take a break
If you decide to push through, here are some of my favorite tips on how to stay focused and push through. I love the idea of noting distractions (writing down my big mental monster helps!) in real-time to allow yourself to keep on task.
If you decide to take a break, check out this article that might help you assess if you need a break and what kind of break you need. I usually take a break to grab a snack or fun drink… though sometimes, I end up lying horizontal on the floor.

Big things are brewing! Keep an eye out for next week’s issue for some big announcements and maybeeeeee a giveaway… 👀
Leave me a note if anything’s on your mind. Appreciate you, friend! Thanks for being on this adventure with me 🤍
I'm creating an onboarding plan for a new hire and "My Comments Are in the Google Doc" is just... too accurate. Sheesh.
