What your to-do list doesn't want you to know
+ more influencers are burning out + shoutout to the SAD friends after daylight savings
Hi friend,
Did you know that your value in this world is more than how many tasks you complete on your to-do list?
Because lately, I’ve been equating my worth to how productive I’ve been in a day.
How many tasks I get done, how much I can contribute, how often I can produce things.
As a freelancer, it’s even more of a weight, because anytime you’re not being productive, you’re not making money.
But the value that you bring to life beyond the content you create, the reports you run, the strategies you build – that’s even more important.
There will always be more to do.
There will always be more you can do.
But your life and happiness is more than all of that.
Show yourself some kindness and gentle encouragement, friend.
with warmth + love,
N

🧘🏼♀️ Mindful Moment
One actionable thing to get you through this week
This week, I started a Mindful Productivity course with the incredible neuroscience researcher Anne-Laure Le Cunff.
The first assignment included a new concept to me: Interstitial Journaling
Essentially, you journal and take field notes throughout your day documenting what you’re doing, how you’re feeling, etc. so you can get a retrospective view of what’s going on day to day.
I’ve done it one day this week, but I can see myself making this a regular practice. Join me?
More on the concept + how to do it (~4 min read) on Anne-Laure’s Ness Labs website here.

Things I’ve been loving that have absolutely nothing to do with marketing or business
Vogue: Why Do Women in Their 40s Love Harry Styles So Much? – I love this piece because I am 100% going to be one of these women in 12+ years.
Self: How to Prep Now If Winter Always Makes You Depressed – This one’s for all my SAD (seasonal affective disorder) friends!!! I’m writing this at 5pm and it’s almost entirely dark out!!!!
Insider: The guy who inspired the “quiet quitting” movement is back to working 50 hours a week – LOL but also relatable. Anyone else try to quiet quit but can’t resist falling back into the hustle?
Wired: All the Free Resources You Can Find at Your Library – Okay, I know you’re like, “Nicole, this one is so basic.” BUT you’d be amazed at how many people don’t know you can rent FREE Kindle books from the library without even leaving your house. If you haven’t been to a library since you were a kid, this one’s for you. Libraries are awesome.
I NEED YOUR INPUT! I’m revamping my content + want to be writing more regular, fun things for you! What’s more fun + timely than a ✨ holiday gift guide ✨ ???? Would this be something you’d read? Or watch a TikTok of? Just getting ideas! Vote here:
Yes, I’d love a Social Media Detox gift guide.
No, please keep your holiday shopping to yourself, thx.

💭 Content Calendar
Ideas for you to take into your week ahead as a content creator
Recently, I watched this video from YouTuber Rowena Tsai about “why you don’t need to get your life together.”
One of my favorite quotes from it: “I am whole. My life is together. Sometimes things get a little messy, but I’m okay.”
I think the same can be said about what we create.
We tend to keep looking for the best hack, the top advice, the next big thing.
But sometimes, there’s nothing to fix or change about your content. Sometimes you just need to keep going back to the drawing board, and you’ll be okay.
