Thinking of adding a stories function to this newsletter
+ marketing jobs guide + quick yoga at your desk
Hello friends! ☀️
Fun Fact: I wrote out an entire intro letter about Fleets + LinkedIn Stories + the frustrations that come with them but then I realized, none of you probably want to hear about those things right now.
For every funny meme or accurate rant we see, we lose ourselves a bit in the exhaustion + saturation of it all. We see people around us jumping right in + others writing essays on strategies. But sometimes that makes us question our position in it all.
I’m here to tell you if you don’t want to think about social media platform changes right now in this moment, you don’t have to. You do not have to try to meet the level of others you see on the internet.
Remember, this feature came out on TUESDAY. No one is an expert in this yet. You’ve got time. You do not have to do it all just now. If you’re a manager, please consider reminding your teams of this.
We’ll all get there eventually. We always do.
with warmth + love,
N

Things I’ve been loving that you might like too
As a social media manager, there’s a lot to remember when making content. My incredible friend Alexa Heinrich is making it easy for you to remember + learn how to use accessibility tools (i.e. alt text, captions, etc.) with her free collection of social media accessibility guides. therealalexa.com
I feel like I’ve been spending so much time in front of a screen lately. My eyes are really feeling it. To not deteriorate my eyesight in record time, I’ve been testing out blue light blocking glasses thanks to a cheap set from Amazon and some Visine eye drops for when my eyes get really dry + sore. Super glamorous stuff. $22 USD for glasses, $12 USD for eye drops
A lot of you enjoyed the breathing exercise from last week’s Mindful Moment. I always come back to that simple practice, but The New York Times gathered a few more breathing techniques if you want to dive into other methods or find one that’s more your style. nytimes.com
Confession: I haven’t purchased a single holiday gift yet. I love this gift guide highlighting 16 brands that sell things to make with your hands (a marketing way to say “arts and crafts”). I’m pretty sure it’s only a matter of time until I buy something. My bet’s on the cross-stitch kit. thingtesting.com
Travel + Leisure rounded up a bunch of long (1hr+), relaxing videos to give you all the calming vibes. If you can get past the eye roll of how cliché this is, I highly recommend working to the Planet Earth sound or putting the Fireplace Show on in the background to keep you virtually cozy. travelandleisure.com

💭 Content Calendar
Ideas for you to take into your week ahead as a content creator
Examine your content strategy through the eyes of your consumer. Not just what they’re looking for within your product offering, but what are they looking for from any company? Where are they spending their money? What’s resonating with them in general?
So often we look at the competition we have within our brand’s industry. But consumers aren’t necessarily diving in deep to your competition. They’re making a choice based on so many outside factors in their life, including how aligned you are with the brands they already love.
So, how is your content for your niche product offering going to fit among the things your consumer is eating, drinking, watching, hearing, reading, loving, and hating?
