☁️ You deserve the things you want
so many tiktok trend names / early bedtimes are cool / self-promotion struggles
Hi friend,
I’m gonna get a little woo-hoo on you for a second: if the universe is pointing you in a direction, follow it.
I’m saying this because I’ve been working through growth lately that has required me to make some changes – say no to things I’d usually say yes to + get clear on my priorities.
It’s uncomfy and scary, but every time I’ve said no, I’ve gravitated more toward the direction I want to go. It’s almost as if the universe is proving to me: “Here’s what you said you really wanted! Take it!”
Maybe you’ve experienced something similar. You say no to those obligatory plans so you can say yes to taking time to yourself. You leave a job and find a new perspective on your priorities. You get rid of toxic people in your life to meet new friends who welcome your next chapter.
We can dig our heels in + rage against the change, terrified of the unknown. Or, we can acknowledge the scaries + see where possibility can take us.
Said simpler, we deserve the things we want + if they’re within our reach, why not try to grab on?
with warmth + love,
N

TikTok loves a new trend name: why do we have to have a name for everything?? (see also: “orange peel theory,” “loud budgeting,” “75 cozy,” etc.)
Speaking of TikTok… the overconsumption: even deinfluencing couldn’t stop the powers of TikTok Shop and excessive consumerism
A note on self-promotion: everyone seems to have something to promote these days, but why does it feel so difficult? (I’m *the worst* at this)
Good news for all the young grandmas out there (like me): apparently the new hot trend is early bedtimes and prioritizing sleep (I’m so happy)
Can we be more normal about Taylor Swift? the amount and focus of the press on wild narratives about her is… kinda weird, not gonna lie.

What if we just… didn’t try to get better at things all the time? As this personal essay from Wondermind so eloquently puts it… “All the leveling-up talk can make us feel like we’re falling short if we’re not regularly updating our lives like some iPhone software.”
That’s not to frown on you if you’re enjoying your season of change (hi, it’s me!) but if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all, check out the article for some tips – here’s my favorite one:
Remember your true goals. What enables you to feel joy? Not because some girl on TikTok is doing it or because someone told you to. Enjoy who you are + what you want to do.

on building social media detox!
Thank you all so much for such kind feedback over the last few weeks! Nothing to report this time, but things are brewing!
Leave me a note if anything’s on your mind. Thanks for being on this adventure with me 🤍
